State of Texas Anglers Rodeo

Saturday May 24th through Labor Day
The 19th annual State of Texas Anglers Rodeo will begin at dawn, Saturday, May 24 and will run through Monday, Sept. 1 (Labor Day).  Anglers everywhere are anxious to get on the water in pursuit of over $1,000,000 in prizes in Texas’ largest, richest, summer-long saltwater fishing event.  The 2008 CCA Texas/STAR will have the usual outstanding prize line-up for anglers, plus our most generous sponsor offerings still continue to add more value to your CCA Texas Membership and STAR Entry.

Special Olympics Texas - Camp Shriver 2008

July 21-25 and August 4-8, 2008

Special Olympics Texas - Central Texas Area and Austin Parks and Recreation will host a two-week Camp Shriver, July 21-25, 2008 and August 4-8, 2008, at Zaragoza Recreation Center.

Campers with intellectual disabilities must be between the ages of 12 and 25, and have appropriate life and behavioral skills.  We are also looking for Partners, ages 12 to 25, and Volunteers, ages 15 and older (ages 12 to 14 permitted with a guardian), to assist during the Camp.

Austin Toros Kids Summer Camp

Our camp begins on July 28th and goes through August 1 each evening from 6-8 pm for more information please see our website. Regular season begins August 4th, 2008.

Austin Kids Day

August 2nd, 2008 from 9-4pm

Austin Kids Day is Austin’s first fully integrated and autonomous festival dedicated to bringing kids and families together. The day will be full of live music from Joe McDermott, Aunty E, & The Biscuit Brothers, dress-up contests, video game theater, educational activities, arts & crafts, bouncy houses, charity events, magic shows, gourmet food, drinks, free giveaways, and much, much more. The event provides real-life experiences, musical lessons, and interactivity with some of Austin’s favorite musical stars!
