WHAT IS AUSTIN FAN FEST ALL ABOUT?

The Austin Fan Fest is the downtown party celebrating the inaugural year of the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix. On the weekend of Nov 16-18, 2012 the Austin Fan Fest will be the world’s biggest party destination with an expected attendance of more than 200,000 people. Downtown Austin will be transformed into the ultimate party atmosphere where fans will experience five free stages of music, four concert venues hosting major international performers, interactive F1 activities including show cars, simulators, gaming, street performances, sponsor parties, a kids zone, and so much more.

Our FREE Tito's Homemade Vodka stage of music is located on Colorado Street between 5th and 4th Street. There will be plenty of music, food, and activities for the whole family. You will find our stage line up below, click the artist photos for artist's bios, music, and more.

Playing more than 150 shows a year with her band, Reese has carved her name in the male-dominated music business, touring with such notable Texas acts as Cory Morrow, Jack Ingram, Kevin Fowler and Green. A magnetic stage presence, quick wit and incredible beauty are just bonuses for audiences at her energetic live shows.

For many years Tee-Double has been a trail blazer in the Texas music scene in not just the Hip Hop arena but varioous genres and globally as well. Tee Double has blurred the distinctions commonly associated with entrepreneurs, songwriters, producers, and poets. Armed with a freestyle grace that can only be witnessed in person, he has let his lyrics flow, defined with bass lines that have given them power to shape a community.

Hatched in the twilight months of ought nine, these five young men came from all corners of the US looking to do one thing: knock the dust off roots music. A freewheelin', trashgrassin', folk tornado, the Whiskey Shivers take traditional instrumentation, soak it in gasoline and send it into outer space. Breakneck speeds, killer grooves and impeccable musicianship: it's enough to make Bill Monroe himself do a double-take as he spins in his grave. With upright bass, fiddle, washboard, banjo, guitar, and reasonably priced merchandise, Whiskey Shivers adds a fine layer of grit on top of the hard-driving rhythms of traditional bluegrass. They've been called everything from "trashgrass" to "hardcore roots" to "crazy-assed redneck music" — whatever the words, the meaning is the same: Whiskey Shivers brings the house down.

Gina Chavez’s sound has been described as a cross between Sheryl Crow and Selena. Her percussive Ani-like guitar playing pounds the backbeat for soaring, Joni-like vocals that are set to rootsy, Latin rhythms to forge an energetic, thought-provoking yet playful live performance.

Wendy Colonna's music is a savory gumbo of soul, poetry and groove. With her sultry, south Louisiana voice and masterful lyricism, she stirs up an eclectic mix of stylistic ingredients, creating a delicious musical experience for listeners.

Hello Wheels is a four strong stomp-folk act from Austin, TX. Harmony rich and driving, their songs boast dynamic arrangements, thoughtfully woven into the stories they tell. The result has been called 'a new sound with an old soul'. Keep an ear to the ground, this sound you won't want to miss.

The Rocketboys perfectly marry themes of unity and brotherhood with rich, soaring rock, lifting the band to national critical acclaim. The band supported its releases with lengthy tours and multiple festival appearances.

Eagle Eye Williamson creates a uniquely raw and gritty sound reflecting his nature as a simple, work-a-day man. The organic quality of the music produces an unlikely raucous; it’s hard not to become intrigued when listening.

Wild Child is a folk-pop band from Austin, TX.

The first thing that gets you about country singer Kimberly Dunn is her friendly and spunky personality. Then, when she starts strumming her guitar and singing in a country voice both tender and powerful, you're hooked.

John Edward Baumann is a folk-rock artist from Austin, TX.

Mike and the Moonpies are a prime example that classic country is still going strong in 2012. Their regular appearances at Austin’s White Horse are already legendary, and they have quite a cultural melting pot (no pun intended) at their shows. Suffice it to say, if Austin’s famous ‘70s live music venue, the Armadillo World Headquarters, was still around, they’d fit right in. No matter where you catch Mike and the Moonpies, they make any joint feel like a good ol’ Texas honky-tonk. Just make sure you come ready to dance!

What Made Milwaukee Famous has been a stalwart of the Austin music scene since their inception in 2003. The three original members, Michael Kingcaid (vocals, guitar, keyboards), John Farmer (bass), and Jason Davis (guitars, vocals), each bring a diverse range of influences to the table, allowing them to seamlessly shift between genres at the drop of a hat. With the release of their first two records, Trying to Never Catch Up and What Doesn't Kill Us on Seattle's Barsuk imprint, the band has been touted for their abilities to channel strong musicianship and diverse song-writing into instantly, addictive hooks.
