The Eli Young Band family is mourning the loss of Jon Jones’
father, Allen Edwin Jones, who died from lung cancer last
Monday. Allen was 74 and had been a champion for his son, supporting his musical
aspirations from an early age.
Jon said, “He was always on my side when it came to playing
music, ever since my parents started me on violin at the age of two-and-a-half.
He even predicted years before the band was formed that I would have a big
future in country music.”
Allen is survived by his wife of eight years, five children
and their mothers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure or the American Cancer Society.
